Gayatri Mantram

Gayatri is known as Panchamukhi, meaning she has five faces. What are they? Aum is the first face; "Bhur Bhuvah Suvaha" is the second; "Tat Savitur Varenyam" is the third; "Bhargo Devasya Dheemahi" is the fourth; "Dhiyo Yo Nah Prachodayat" is the fifth.

The Gayatri has three parts:
1.Praise,
2.Meditation, and
3.Prayer.

First, the Divine is praised, then it is meditated upon in reverence and lastly, an appeal is made to the Divine to dispel the darkness of ignorance and to awaken and strengthen the intellect. "Dheemahi" is related to the meditative aspect. "Dhiyo Yo Nah Prachodayat" relates to the aspect of prayer.

Chanting of the Gayatri Mantra purifies the mind and confers devotion, detachment and wisdom. Young men must necessarily chant the Gayatri Mantra. Today we find people getting initiated into the Gayatri Mantra in the advanced stages of their youth. Intellect will blossom and shine forth in all its splendor only after initiation into the Gayatri Mantra. That is why it is essential that Upanayanam be done at the age of eight. One who is initiated into the Gayatri Mantra at an early age will become highly intelligent. Chanting of the Gayatri Mantra will sanctify man's life

My bizzare moments

Recently, I realized i am into different weird moments. Thought its better to dedicate a post for laughing..

1. Line comment in a wrong place: I wanted to send a group email to prepare for a b'day party of one of my friend. I included her husband (Jeehyun) and wrote something specific for him in the email addressing her husband. But later, realized that she may read her husband's emails. So, removed his Id from the list and thought i removed the related lines in the email. I did not realize till my friend asked what are those two slashes before the Jeehyun's name. Then only i realized that i commented those lines by adding "//" rather than deleting those lines in the email.

2. Korean tea: I have been eating bread with Jam in the fridge. I even suggested that Jam to some others. But only recently realized that it is a korean tea.

3. Seat belt: Being used to drive my car a lot, once i sat in a seat. I was trying to put seat belt, but shocked to see that seat is not equipped with seat belt. It may not be a surprise in India, but sure is a surprise in US.. Only later, realized that i am sitting in a seat in theater not in car..:(

4. Birth day party spoiler: Once a met few friends of mine at a grocery shop buying cake. they said its for someones b'day. After an hour, i met one of their friends randomly. I told her that i met her friends in the grocery shop for b'day preparations.. I even asked, do u know whose b'day it is..I exactly asked the girl who b'day is on that day, rather than asking the original people who were buying the cake..:(

Desi's caught on algorithms assignment @ March 2007

A story happened in NC State that played with the future of 28 desis for four days

thr was a prob. in an assignment which was tough n no one solved it..the day before the submission, myself n another girl Deepa came up with a sol.. v thought it was fine but still had doubts.. so v told 3 more ppl..all agreed..v made 5 different versions of it n submitted..

2 days later 28 ppl. got mail saying come n meet, u all caught up with plagiarism
tht night, the sol. went to so many others..:) but the thing is , it was a wrong one..:-P..28 ppl. cannot submit the same wrong solution..leading to all being caught massively

but everybody honestly mentioned tht thy learned some hints frm somebody
so savage made a tree showing who learned from whom..
whn i went to her n said , I am Suresh..she was like haaa u were the ROOT..:-P

I was like..i discussed only with 3 ppl. don't know wht happened n all..afterwards..
she was like okie...i will give u less punishment compared to others..

finally, she was nice..she deducted 30% frm everyone..n 15% from mine..

funny part was Kunal..
I told him wht i did .. he wrote it down..but did not feel like submitting.. so he removed the answer but he told somebody else..
who cited Kunal...whn i went ..she was like thr is a missing branch in my tree..:-P
can u help me fix it..she had all the fun whn all of us were tensed..:(
